The FTP server has a fresh development release for the brave and the curious. For a list of changes in GIMP 2.3.2, please see the NEWS file on developer.gimp.org.

GIMP 2.2.8 Released

GIMP 2.2.8 Released

Version 2.2.8 of the GNU Image Manipulation Program is now available. This is a bug-fix release in the stable 2.2 series that fixes a couple of problems. The source code can be retrieved from ftp.gimp.org and its mirrors, binary packages should become available over the next days.


GIMP 2.3.1 development release

GIMP 2.3.1 development release

Another development release is out for those of you that are afraid of using CVS but want to follow the development towards GIMP 2.4. The source is available from ftp.gimp.org or from one of its mirrors. The list of changes includes usability improvements as well as some very promising changes to the Python bindings.

GIMP Help snapshot

GIMP Help snapshot

The GIMP documentation team has been working hard and is proud to announce the availability of gimp-help-2-0.8, a snapshot release of the GIMP User Manual for GIMP 2.2. The tarball can be downloaded from ftp.gimp.org or grabbed from one its mirrors.

This snapshot features lots of new and improved content, a nicer layout and the start of Italian and Dutch translations.


GUADEC

Some GNU Image Manipulation Program users and developers will go to GUADEC in Stuttgart, Germany from the 29th to the 31st of May, 2005. They will hold a freeform session there, so you can come and ask what they are up to or how you can join them.

The GIMP developers are proud to announce GIMP 2.3.0, the first snapshot of the development that will lead to GIMP 2.4. This release is provided for developers and interested users. Please read the release notes for the development snapshots for more information.

The GIMP developers have released version 2.2.6 of the GNU Image Manipulation Program. This is a bug-fix release in the stable 2.2 series. A large number of problems have been fixed; users are encouraged to update. The source code is available from the usual places, binary packages will appear soon.

In case you wonder about version 2.2.5, it had a bug in the Print plug-in and was immidiately replaced with the 2.2.6 release.

Another bug-fix release in the stable GIMP 2.2 series is now available. The source code can be downloaded from ftp.gimp.org; binary packages will be made available soon. The GIMP Help team has also made a new snapshot of the GIMP user manual.

The source code for a new stable version of the GNU Image Manipulation Program is now available from the usual places. This release fixes a number of problems that people have reported for GIMP 2.2. An update is recommended.

Update: Debian sid already has the binary package, not even five hours after the source was released :)
