Version 2.3.10 is a development snapshot leading up to GIMP 2.4. The source code can be downloaded from ftp.gimp.org. Changes are listed at developer.gimp.org. If you want to try this unstable development snapshot, please read the release notes for the development releases.

Version 2.2.1 of gimp-gap, the GIMP animation package, is now available. This release features mainly bugfixes but also some new features:

  • additional functions to modify frames (set layer modes, and layer mask handling)
  • storyboard dialog supports drag&drop and editing of transition attributes
  • new plug-in to reverse frame sequence

Please note that gimp-gap 2.2.1 requires gimp 2.2 and glib 2.8 or higher. It is recommended to use gtk+ 2.8. The source code can be downloaded from ftp.gimp.org; binary packages should become available soon.

GIMP 2.3.9 is the latest and hopefully one of the last development snapshots on our way to version 2.4 of the GNU Image Manipulation Program. The source code can be downloaded from ftp.gimp.org. Version 2.2.11 of the GNU Image Manipulation Program is now available. This is a bug-fix release in the stable 2.2 series. Please see the NEWS file for a detailed list of changes. After more than six months of work, we're proud to announce a new release of the user manual for GIMP 2.2. This release features a lot of improvements, in particular:

  • Spelling and grammar fixes for Czech, German, Dutch, Italian, English, Chinese and French
  • Restructuring of the manual into three parts: Introduction, Concepts and Tutorials, Reference
  • New language: Croatian
  • Technical fixes: Makefile updates, better images for the PDF version, CSS updates, new scripts for editing and validating the XML files
  • New GIMP Keys reference
  • New content in:
    • Filters, Menus for German
    • Tools, Dialogs for Italian
    • Filters for French, English
    • Concepts for Dutch
  • A lot of Bugfixes

You can download gimp-help-2-0.10 from ftp.gimp.org. Please keep in mind, that this release includes only the XML sources. We will provide prebuilt HTML tarballs as soon as possible.

The manual is written in DocBook/XML. Please help us to improve it and to fix grammar and spelling errors. Every contributor who wants to help us by providing DocBook/XML patches or just proof reads the manual is very welcome. Version 2.2.0 of GAP, the GIMP Animation Package is now available for download at ftp.gimp.org. GAP provides a number of plug-ins that extend GIMP with capabilities to edit and create animations.

Version 2.2.9 of the GNU Image Manipulation Program is now available. This is a bug-fix release in the stable 2.2 series and fixes a couple of problems.
